"UKRAINIAN STRINGS" FOR SCHOOLS

"UKRAINIAN STRINGS" is a unique educational musical project by an Australian fresh-minded multicultural ensemble - Jaga Band. Led by their front lady Mar'yana Sywak on violin, the vibrant Jaga Band performs traditional Eastern European songs and tunes focusing, first of all, on the rich culture of Ukraine. 

 

What brought  the "UKRAINIAN STRINGS" project to life was an idea of introducing a special theme workshop, a kind of incursion, where school children can go on an enriching musical journey to the land far away while staying in their classroom.

 

This special workshop program is both educational and entertaining. In an easy and playful manner the talented musicians of Jaga Band will introduce children to the history of Eastern European music with an emphasis on medieval Slavic instruments and styles. This program also includes a fun interactive segment where students get handed out some traditional instruments and are encouraged to participate in making music. The students will also learn some elements of Ukrainian folk dances.

 

And last but not least. All Jaga Band musicians are fully trained and experienced educators.

They all hold a valid 'Working With Children Check'.
